My yoga journey began here at PAI not long after it opened in 2010. The first yoga class I took had an immeasurable impact on my life. The community was welcoming and an immediate comfort to me. When the opportunity to purchase PAI and continue the PAI legacy presented itself to me, I knew it was meant to be. I believe in serendipity and there was a reason I was called to PAI.
I studied for my RYT-200 in PAI’s first Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 under the direction of Chan Hemintranont, Kara Lough and Aaron King. At the time I thought teaching yoga would be my next career; maybe my retirement career! Funny how each step we take in life leads us to our next adventure. Now as the owner, I carry on the basic principles embedded in PAI from the beginning…cultivating healthy minds and bodies. PAI is a place where you leave feeling fulfilled and complete.
In addition to my yoga practice, I have been a fitness class junkie since my first Buck-i-Robics class at OSU. I earned my BA from OSU and soon after, I moved to Colorado. In the mid 90s, I became obsessed with Step Aerobics! I found myself back in Columbus with my family in 2003 and have worked my way through Jazzercise, Zumba, P90X and many other fitness classes. I am excited that PAI offers both yoga and group fitness making it a unique all-in-one studio.
I have been a business owner for over 10 years. Owning a daycare has taught me a lot about what it takes to run a successful business, keep my clients happy, and manage a team of employees. I’m looking forward to the future growth of PAI, and can’t wait to continue with this journey.
My inquiry into fitness began in the eighth grade when I was introduced to organized weight training. I quickly became addicted to the sights, sounds and feel of the weight room. A few years later, I discovered the key to fitness success was largely influenced by diet and nutrition. Meal planning and eating six small meals a day become routine to me in high school.
I continued my journey in college at the University of Colorado where I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and Applied Human Physiology. Upon graduation I found the job market was plentiful in corporate professions, not fitness professions. Like many others, I bit the bullet and took my first corporate job. Fitness remained a large part of my daily life as I began to focus on other types of activities outside the weight room.
I have worked in the financial industry for over 15 years. My financial experience and background will greatly support the PAI growth and vision, and I know my skills will complement Amy’s and the rest of the PAI team as well.
Over the years, I have participated in many fitness activities. I have completed half marathons and triathlons as well as several series of P90X. This has all lead me to PAI Yoga & Fitness. Today my goal is to create an atmosphere where people realize they have the power to reach their fitness goals. On behalf of the instructors and your fellow members of PAI, we are here to help you on your personal journey.
