Rachel Hoying

Rachel became a certified Barre-Om instructor in the winter of 2016. Moving back to central Ohio 2014, she had tried many different ways to try to stay in shape, and eventually found Pai. She loved Pai from her first visit for the feeling of community and the variety of classes offered. She decided to try barre, and, by her first class, she was hooked. As an athlete for most of her life, including cheering at the University of Dayton, she loved the challenge that the barre-Om method presented, as well as the focus on rhythm and music.
 
Rachel attended the University of Dayton for undergrad and went to the University of Findlay to obtain her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies. As a PA, she sees the impact that exercise and fitness have on all aspects of health and wellness.
 
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time with her family.

Jennie Lawrence

Jennie became a certified barre-OM instructor in the summer of 2015 and Senior Barre Instructor in August 2016. As a former marathon runner, Jennie immediately loved the intensity and effectiveness of the barre-OM workout, which fuses traditional barre moves with yoga and pilates inspired sequences. Jennie loves sharing barre with clients and encourages everyone to try a barre workout, as the barre-OM instructors offer many modifications and ensure classes are accessible to all fitness levels. She strives to help clients feel empowered and inspired after every workout.
 

When not in the studio, you can find Jennie at home with her two boys. She is originally from the suburbs of Chicago and has a Bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois and a Master’s in College Student Personnel from Miami University. Prior to staying at home with her children, Jennie had a career in academic advising and career coaching with positions at the University of Michigan and Ohio State University.

Brittany Stoffer

Brittany became a certified barre-OM instructor in the fall of 2016. Brittany played tennis throughout school but needed a way to stay active after graduation. She tried to be a runner many times but realized unless it was running to the mall, running just wasn’t for her. Group fitness classes kept her honest and motivated. She originally joined PAI to try yoga but became hooked on the barre-OM classes. She loves that barre-OM is modifiable for all fitness levels and gets excited when new clients experience the intensity of barre for the first time. Brittany is a Columbus native who graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and works as a payroll analyst. She currently resides in Powell with her husband Anthony and their three dogs.
When not at PAI, you can find Brittany watching sports or shopping, or shopping online while she watches sports. She also enjoys traveling – especially to the beach.

Jessica Horstman

Jessica became a certified barre instructor in the spring of 2016. Her love for barre began when she explored other types of workouts to stay fit and took her first barre class in April 2015. She was instantly hooked on the Barre-OM method, not only for the music and challenging exercises, but because of the community and fun she shared with others.
 
Originally from Dublin, Ohio, Jessica attended the University of Dayton for undergrad and returned to her hometown to attend graduate school at The Ohio State University where she earned her Master’s degree in social work. She works full time as a licensed social worker in the healthcare field.
 
Throughout her career and in her own life, Jessica recognizes the importance of physical health, and the benefits of a healthy body and mind. In her spare time, Jessica can be found taking her dog on walks, spending time with her friends, family and her husband, Tommy, and of course, shopping!

Lynn Ison

Lynn Ison completed barre-OM training and began teaching in 2014. She became a PAI member the week the studio opened and for years could be found there often, sometimes seven times a week, especially in the hot flow classes. After having a baby in 2013, she is now very selective about how she spends her free time and finds barre classes to be an ideal workout option since they are extremely efficient and effective.
 
She earned her Bachelor of Art from the University of Dayton and is an Art Director at a small design agency in Dublin. Being a fitness instructor allows her to be creative in a totally different style, away from Pantone chips and paper samples, by coming up with motivating playlists and challenging sequences, and Lynn finds that consistent fitness balances (mentally and physically) all the hours spent in front of a computer.
 
In addition to fitness and spending time with her family and friends, Lynn has a passion for travel and good food. She makes an annual vacation a priority, some favorites have been Miami and Italy, and loves trying new restaurants and recipes—especially sweets!
PAI Barre offers Barre-OM(™) classes for its PAI Barre program. Barre-OM™ is a method that was developed by barre instructor/trainer Rachel Wilson. The method uses small isometric movements to work muscles until complete exhaustion and also incorporates orthopedic stretching to lengthen muscles. Barre-OM™ incorporates aspects of pilates, ballet, and yoga to help students achieve a dancer’s physique. Barre-OM™ creates long and lean muscles, whittles away the waistline, and tones arms, abdominals, thighs, and glutes.
 
This sixty-minute class is a low-impact high-intensity class that includes a combination of ballet, pilates, and yoga. These classes are designed to target different muscle groups including arms, thighs, seat, and abdominals through small, controlled, isometric movements. Clients will work their muscles until fatigue and then stretch and lengthen the muscles. Classes will incorporate strengthening and lengthening exercises and will incorporate breathing techniques in an effort to improve core strength and endurance.

The ballet barre is used for support and light weights, resistance bands, and fitness balls are incorporated into the workout to strengthen and sculpt the muscles. Students will overload their muscles until the point of fatigue, and then stretch and lengthen muscles in order to create a long and lean physique.
