Kara Lough

Kara Lough is a certified yoga teacher 200E-RYT - Vinyasa Yoga “Take hold of your own life. See that the whole existence is celebrating. These trees are not serious, these birds are not serious. Kara believes that yoga is for everybody, regardless of age or ability level. She teaches as an extension of her own practice, and is fascinated with the power of the body and mind to heal itself through breath, meditation, and movement.
 
Kara became a student of yoga in 2000 and has been blessed to study under knowledgeable, encouraging teachers. She completed her teacher-training ‘Ashtanga/Hatha’ with Laurel Hodory at It’s Yoga in Columbus in 2008. Kara provides easy-to-follow instructions in a fun and safe atmosphere, encouraging students to strive toward their potential while honoring their current boundaries.
 
She teaches to all levels, from beginner/basic to level 2. ~For Kara, Yoga is a joyful and SWEET practice. Having been a Pastry Chef for 16 years, she knows that yoga is 'the icing on the cake'.


Kara Lough instructs the following:
  • Slow Flow
  • Build a stronger body while releasing tension and flow your way into inner peace. This mindful and slow flow class is great for those searching for a relaxing yoga experience through movement with breath awareness. This class is suitable for beginner yogis however the most experienced yoga practitioner will also be challenged, as sometimes less is more. Room temperature is set at 80 degrees.

  • Yoga and Meditation/75
  • In this class you will learn how to incorporate meditation into your practice. Slow flow movement will prepare your body and mind for stillness. It is especially beneficial if you find it difficult to develop a meditation practice in your home life or on your own. This class includes a vinyasa flow, silent meditation and savasana. Room temperature is set at 75 degrees.

  • Basics Flow
  • An inviting and inspiring class for the new student to gain a solid foundation of yoga poses, healthy alignment, and yogic breath. This class is suitable for beginners or students at other levels interested in revisiting the basics. Room temperature is set at 75 degrees.

  • Power Rise & Shine
  • Find strength, stamina and equanimity in this faster paced, physically challenging power vinyasa flow class. A powerful and dynamic class designed to challenge, awaken, and cleanse the body. This energetic flow style class guides students towards greater self-awareness and confidence. This class is designed for intermediate and experienced yogis who are looking to take their practice to the next level. Room temperature is set at 85 degrees.

  • Slow Rise & Shine
  • Awaken. Stretch. Move SLOW. Breathe. Flow. See how good it can feel to start your day with yoga! Leave feeling energized with amazing mental clarity and ready to flow through your day with ease. This class is designed for all levels but some yoga knowledge and experience is encouraged. Students should be familiar with vinyasa; moving, breathing and flowing through basic yoga postures. Room temperature is set at 80 degrees.

  • HOT Power Yoga Flow/75
  • Get ready to sweat and be challenged by this vigorous class filled with fun, creative yoga sequences and challenging poses. This class will leave you feeling stronger, ALIVE, and cleansed. The studio will be heated to 98+ degrees. Mats tend to get wet and slippery so a small towel and yoga mat towel are recommended. Remember to hydrate well before and after this class. This class is not recommended for new students or those who have not had a regular yoga practice for less than 6 months. Room temperature is set at 98-100 degrees.

  • Power Yoga Flow
  • Find strength, stamina and equanimity in this faster paced, physically challenging power vinyasa flow class. A powerful and dynamic class designed to challenge, awaken, and cleanse the body. This energetic flow style class guides students towards greater self-awareness and confidence. This class is designed for intermediate and experienced yogis who are looking to take their practice to the next level. Room temperature is set at 85 degrees.
